The 5-day Pacific Health Information Network Meeting and Technical Workshops aims to:
1. Provide opportunity for information/ best practice sharing, technical training, technical support and capacity building needs for advancing of HIS and digital health frameworks, and stock take key actions undertaken by PHIN Board and PICTs since its last meeting in 2023.
2. To develop coordinated, practical, and sustainable technical support in HIS and digital health that aligns with country needs and promotes data driven organizations policies and data driven policies.
3. Data for policy challenges including update on fourth (4th) Healthy Islands Monitoring Framework report and the use of HIMF data for policy.
4. Coordinate all development partners and investments in HIS and digital health in the region, compile consolidated report for the Pacific Health Ministers Meeting
5. Create pathway for closer engagement with health systems and digital tool developers, programmers and operators and allow member countries to better engage and be aware of best buys practical and useable for country context.
The outputs of the meeting are:
1. Identify gaps for digital health capabilities and build expertise in the Pacific region for the adoption of standards such as FHIR, SNOMED, etc. to enable seamless data exchange.
2. Develop a reusable and scalable standard adoption and interoperability framework that can be extended for all Pacific Island Countries.
3. Facilitate a collaborative space for the national government agencies, development partners and other stakeholders for on-going knowledge-sharing and best practices
