Pacific Infection Prevention and Control Network Meeting
PICNet is a service of PPHSN which was created in 2006. The purpose of the Pacific Infection Prevention and Control Network (PICNet) meeting is to provide a platform to influence and drive IPC priorities for the Region and strengthen Infection Prevention Control (IPC) capacity in the Pacific Islands and Territories (PICTs) through implementation of the core components of IPC, support in technical assistance and IPC education.
The objectives of the PICNet meeting are for member countries to discuss IPC challenges and create a collaborative platform to strengthen regional ownership towards advancing IPC in the blue Pacific. The following themes will be discussed:
• Progress on the IPC activities in the Pacific
• PICNet Strategic plan 2025-2030
• Improving safety climate - hand hygiene
• Strengthening Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) surveillance
• Education and Research
• Health emergencies- IPC Preparedness and Response
• Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) prevention
